WINNER Mentor Training Session
The Mentors’ training session, orchestrated by the TENGO team under the auspices of the WINNER project, was convened through a digital platform on the 21st of June, 2023, in Kahramanmaraş. Overseeing the proceedings were Dr. Zeynep Elçin Kamalak, the project manager of TENGO, and her counterpart, Ali Kıraç, also a project manager at TENGO. The assembly comprised two accomplished female entrepreneurs alongside two female and two male mentors, all recognized experts in their respective domains, resulting in a total cohort of eight mentors participating in the instructional course.
This educational session commenced with an in-depth elucidation of the project’s aims, objectives, and content, specifically tailored to apprise the Mentors. In order to equip these mentors with the necessary proficiencies and competencies to effectively steer and empower women entrepreneurs, the roles integral to this process were distinctly outlined, including the anticipated responsibilities.
Following this, the mentors delved into intricate subjects encapsulating the role of a mentor, indispensable attributes and proficiencies, as well as strategies underpinning the cultivation of a fruitful mentor-mentee relationship. This exploration took place within Module 7 and the framework set out in the Mentors’ Guidelines.
Emanating from this discourse were exchanges encompassing the anticipated outcomes of the project, alongside exemplary practices designed to address the diverse requirements of all stakeholders. The dialogue encompassed optimal approaches to providing comprehensive support to the participants. Throughout these discussions, the mentors played an actively engaged role by disseminating their own experiential insights, forward-looking perspectives, and triumphs tied to mentorship. This active participation signified the mentors’ willingness to contribute their personal experiences and profound acumen in entrepreneurship to benefit their female counterparts.
The mentors underwent a comprehensive instruction session, during which they offered feedback concerning the efficacy of the Mentor’s Guidelines and Module 7. The assembly laid the cornerstone for robust mentorship within the overarching WINNER project, affording mentors access to requisite insights and empowering them to ably assist and direct female participants in their pursuits of entrepreneurial success while dispelling any lingering uncertainties.
